2012 had seen a tremendous hike in the number of releases in Malayalam.
While the number of releases was in the range of 70-95 during recent years, this year more than 120 films reached the theatres.
The trend is all set to continue in 2013 as well with several films made this year, yet to be released.
The first weekend will have four new releases as per the current schedule. Rajeev Ravi's high profile film Annayum Rasoolum, singer turned director Nikhil Krishnakumar's My Fan Ramu, Babu Janardhanan's Lisammayude Veedu and Rajesh Amanakara's Entry are the four main releases.
